Apache Software Foundation Announces Schedule and Opens Registration for Community Over Code North America 2024

ASF’s flagship conference helps spur future innovations across ASF projects by uniting both code and non-code contributors 

Wilmington, DE, July 23, 2024 – The Apache Software Foundation (ASF), the all-volunteer developers, stewards, and incubators of more than 320 active open source projects and initiatives, today announced the schedule for its flagship event, Community Over Code North America (formerly known as ApacheCon). Community Over Code North America will take place in Denver, Colorado on October 7-10, 2024. Registration is also now open. To register or view the full schedule, visit the event website.

For more than 25 years, Community Over Code has united the ASF community and its open source contributors while providing a forum for discussion, learning and networking. Community Over Code is held three times a year with events held in North America, Europe and Asia. The event aims to be an inclusive and collaborative meeting ground for all members of the ASF ecosystem – from technical contributors like developers and engineers to open source community members who contribute their expertise in marketing, security, public policy, community development, documentation and much more.

Community Over Code will span four days and include sessions to cover key topics impacting the open source community including – big data, Internet of Things, financial tech (fintech), geospatial, and search, among others. Each evening will also feature Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions, where communities will have an opportunity for free-form discussion and planning around our various projects.

Registration
Registration for Community Over Code is USD$650 until July 31, 2024, after which regular pricing of USD$750 starts. Late registration begins on September 28 at USD$850. Committers of ASF projects can register for USD$250 at any time by using their apache.org email IDs to register for the conference. Discounted accommodations for Community Over Code attendees are available at the convention venue Grand Hyatt Hotel. Discounted rates are available to reserve anytime between Oct. 6-11.
